Martin Pina is an attorney hailing from the Rio Grande Valley who primarily represents clients in criminal matters for Garia & Garcia Attorneys at Law P.L.L.C.. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Mary’s University of San Antonio (’10) and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law (’14) in Lubbock Texas.
In 2016, Martin began practicing family law and criminal defense in Hidalgo County, working out of Edinburg, Texas. He represented many members of Hidalgo County’s immigrant community as a court-appointed criminal defense attorney.
In June of 2017, Martin joined the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office in Corpus Christi, Texas in an effort to hone his trial skills. He began as a misdemeanor prosecutor and saw himself quickly promoted to felony prosecutor in a little under a year’s time. He took numerous cases to trial for both felony and misdemeanor level offenses, gaining invaluable experience in the practice of criminal law.
In September of 2018, Martin decided to transition back into criminal defense, joining the team at Garcia & Garcia, Attorneys at Law. He continues to serve the immigrant community, now in the greater Austin, and takes immense pride in his zealous advocacy for his clients when representing them in criminal matters.
On a personal note: As the son of immigrant parents from Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Martin proudly counts himself among the immigrant community and is committed to the tireless pursuit of justice for its members.
